Below is a 24 hour snapshot of my media consumption in a standard day.
6:00am: Woke up to my alarm on my HTC Windows Mobile Phone. Quickly scanned 3 emails in my inbox.
7:00am: Arrived at station to catch train. While waiting went through emails, deleted emails and checked schedule for the day.
7:10am: Once on train read the Australian Property Investor magazine.
8:05am: Arrived at city station, billboards across all platforms. Tourism Northern Territory has also bought a lot of space within the station itself and has posted advertsing on pylons, floors etc. TV monitors in shop windows as I am walking to the office.
8:15: Arrived at work and jumped online to check news across ninemsn, smh.com.au and news.com.au. Also checked personal Hotmail emails.
8:15am - 6:00pm: As my role is in online advertsing the majority of my time is spent online. Completed emails, spreadsheets, sales forecasts all through my PC. Received a few calls on my desk phone as well as mobile phone. Various web based tools were used during the day including emails, linked in, MSN Messenger and the intranet.
3:00pm: Short break taken so I walked through the shopping centre under our building. Plenty of bus, taxi and bus stand advertising while i walked across to the shopping centre. Advertising within the shopping centre itself through advertising stands. Checked emails on phone and briefly read the news paper.
6:15pm: On train home and quickly read emails on my laptop, checked personal email and facebook and then back to reading magazine.
7:15: Arrive home and after dinner night is spent watching TV while on my laptop checking emails and doing uni work.
11pm: Check phone for last minute emails and messages before going to bed.
All up i would have spent 9+ hours on the PC with majority of that time being online. Half an hour of phone calls, half an hour of meetings, 1 hour reading magazine and approx 2 hours watching TV while on the laptop.
